What Are Skin Tags?

A skin tag, known medically as an acrochordon, is a small, soft, skin-coloured or slightly darker growth that hangs from the surface on a narrow stalk. They are entirely benign. Most measure between one and five millimetres, although some grow larger, and they appear most often on the neck, eyelids, underarms, groin, under the breasts and anywhere skin folds or rubs.

Rarely, a growth assumed to be a tag turns out to be something requiring proper investigation. How We Remove Skin Tags

Snip Excision

The tag is removed at its base with fine sterile scissors or a scalpel, usually after numbing the area. It is quick, gives an immediate result and suits tags with a defined stalk. Any minor bleeding is easily controlled at the time.

Cryotherapy

Liquid nitrogen freezes the tag, which then dries and falls away over one to two weeks. It is well suited to small tags and to treating several at once. Electrocautery

Avoid swimming pools, the sea and saunas until the skin has fully closed. Protect the healed site from sun exposure for a few months, since new skin pigments more readily under UV.
