What We Do Treat

Hands are the area most worth attention and the one patients most often overlook. Volume loss on the backs of the hands makes tendons and veins prominent, and hands are exposed to sun constantly in this climate, so they frequently look older than the face. Small volumes of hyaluronic acid restore some cushioning, and results are usually gratifying.

The décolletage is the other common request, where fine crepiness and dehydration show early because the skin is thin and sun exposure is high. Modest volumes and hydrating approaches suit this area, and expectations should be for improvement in skin quality rather than transformation.

Why We Do Not Offer Buttock, Hip, Breast or Calf Filler

We would rather explain this than simply decline, because patients asking about it deserve the reasoning.

It is not an approved use. Dermal fillers are not approved for large-scale body contouring, and regulators including the FDA have issued formal safety communications specifically about injection for buttock and breast augmentation and for filling spaces between muscles. Those warnings exist because of reported outcomes, not theoretical concern.

The documented harms are severe. Infection, granuloma formation, product migration away from the injection site, chronic pain, permanent disfigurement, and pulmonary embolism. In fatal cases, embolism is the mechanism. These are not rare-in-the-way-cosmetic-risks-are-usually-rare; they are the reason the warnings were issued.

The products used are frequently not fillers at all. Achieving that volume with a registered hyaluronic acid product is prohibitively expensive, so the market fills the gap with PMMA, industrial-grade silicone and unlabelled “biopolymers”. None of these can be dissolved. When they cause problems — and they commonly do, sometimes years later — the only option is surgical excision, which is disfiguring in itself.

Volume is the core problem. Even a legitimate HA product behaves differently in hundreds of millilitres than in two. Nothing about facial filler experience transfers to that scale.

If You Want Body Contouring, Here Is the Honest Route

Wanting a fuller shape is a perfectly reasonable goal, and declining to inject it is not the same as dismissing it. The legitimate options sit with different specialists.

• Surgical fat transfer — performed by a qualified plastic surgeon, using your own fat, in an appropriate surgical facility. It carries its own significant risks, including fat embolism, which is why it belongs in surgical hands with proper anaesthetic support rather than in a clinic room.
• Implants — again a plastic surgery procedure, with its own risk and recovery profile.
• Non-invasive body contouring devices — these reduce or tighten rather than augment, so they answer a different question, but they are worth knowing about.
• Strength training — genuinely the answer for a meaningful number of people asking about buttock augmentation, and the only option with no downside.

Red Flags When Someone Offers You Body Filler

If you are considering large-volume injection anywhere, please read this first.

1. The setting is not a licensed medical clinic. Homes, hotel rooms, salons and “clinics” without visible DHA licensing. This is where the worst outcomes happen.
2. The product is not named. “Special filler”, “our own formula”, “biopolymer” or an unwillingness to show you sealed, labelled packaging.
3. The price is implausible. Registered product at that volume would cost a great deal. A low price means it is not registered product.
4. It is presented as risk-free or permanent-and-safe. Nothing injected at that volume is either.
5. There is no discussion of complications, no consent process, and no after-hours contact.
6. You are being rushed — a limited-time price, or treatment offered on the same day you enquired.
7. Travel is involved and follow-up is not. If something goes wrong three weeks later, who manages it?

If You Already Have Body Filler

A meaningful number of patients come to us having had large-volume injections elsewhere, sometimes abroad, often without knowing what was used. If you are in that position, the useful first step is an assessment rather than waiting to see what happens.

We can examine the area, take a history, and give you an honest view. Where hyaluronic acid was used, dissolving may be possible. Where a permanent product was used, we will tell you that plainly and refer you to a plastic surgeon, because surgical assessment is what that situation requires. Either way you will leave knowing what you are dealing with.

Please seek assessment promptly rather than waiting if you have developed lumps, hardening, migration of shape, discoloration, discharge, fever, or pain in the treated area — and seek emergency care immediately for chest pain, breathlessness or feeling faint after any injection procedure.

Do you offer buttock filler?

Why is buttock filler dangerous when face filler is fine?

Buttock injection requires hundreds of millilitres, which in practice means non-reversible products such as PMMA, silicone or unlabelled biopolymers, and at that scale the risk of migration, granuloma and embolism is entirely different.

What is a biopolymer?

It is a marketing term rather than a defined medical product, generally used for unregulated injectable substances. If a clinic uses that word instead of naming a registered product, treat it as a reason to leave.

Can permanent body filler be removed?

What about fat transfer instead?

It uses your own fat and is performed by a plastic surgeon in a surgical facility. It carries significant risks of its own, including fat embolism, which is precisely why it requires surgical expertise and proper anaesthetic support rather than a clinic room.

Someone has offered me body filler at a very low price. Should I?
