Mesotherapy treatment in Dubai has become popular for one straightforward reason: the climate here is hard on skin hydration. Long hours in air conditioning, strong year-round sun and low ambient humidity indoors leave many people with skin that looks tired regardless of how good their routine is. Mesotherapy addresses that directly, by placing hydrating and antioxidant ingredients into the upper layers of the skin through a series of very fine microinjections. At Dermabloom Medical Center in Mirdif, Dr Sarah Magdy assesses your skin first and will tell you honestly whether it is likely to help. What Mesotherapy Actually Is
Mesotherapy involves multiple superficial injections delivered across the treatment area, each placing a small amount of product into the skin itself rather than beneath it. The ingredients typically include hyaluronic acid, vitamins, amino acids and antioxidants . Because the product sits where it is needed, the reasoning goes, it achieves more than a serum applied to the surface.
Crucially, mesotherapy is not a filler. Fillers add volume and structure, whereas mesotherapy improves skin quality — hydration, smoothness and glow. Patients sometimes arrive expecting one and describing the other, so we clarify this at consultation. If volume is what you actually want, fillers are the correct treatment and we will say so.
An Honest Word on the Evidence
We would rather be straight with you here, because this treatment is heavily marketed across Dubai. Hyaluronic acid skin boosters have reasonable published evidence for improving skin hydration and quality. By contrast, the evidence supporting elaborate multi-vitamin cocktails is weaker, more variable and often based on small studies.
Therefore we position mesotherapy carefully. It is a good treatment for hydration, radiance and skin quality. It is not, however, a treatment for wrinkles, volume loss, sagging or acne scarring, and anyone presenting it that way is overselling. Patients who book it understanding what it does tend to be genuinely pleased with the result.
What It Treats Well
- Dull, dehydrated skin — the most common reason patients book, and where it performs best.
- Loss of glow — skin that looks flat or tired despite a decent routine.
- Fine, crepey texture — particularly under the eyes, on the neck and across the hands.
- Skin quality before an event — as part of a course planned well in advance.
- Maintenance — supporting results between peels, laser or other treatments.
Areas We Treat
The face is the most requested area, but it is far from the only one. The neck and décolletage are commonly treated, since both show dehydration and crepiness early yet are frequently neglected in daily routines. Hands are another popular area, because they age visibly and are constantly exposed. Finally, the scalp is treated where hair thinning is a concern, which we cover separately below.
Hair Mesotherapy
Scalp mesotherapy delivers vitamins and other ingredients into the scalp skin, and it is often requested for thinning hair. Results vary considerably between individuals, though, and the evidence base is less robust than for established medical hair loss treatments.
Above all, hair loss has causes worth identifying first. Iron deficiency, thyroid dysfunction, hormonal changes, nutritional gaps, stress and genetic pattern hair loss all present similarly, yet each needs different management. Consequently, treating the scalp without establishing the cause is guesswork, and it wastes both time and money. So we recommend a dermatology consultation first, often with blood work, before any scalp treatment is planned.
What Happens During Treatment
- Assessment — your concerns, medical history, allergies, medications and current routine are reviewed, and the skin is examined.
- Product selection — the cocktail or skin booster is chosen for your skin and your goal, rather than applied as a standard set.
- Numbing — topical anaesthetic is applied where appropriate, particularly for the more sensitive areas.
- Preparation — the area is cleansed and disinfected thoroughly.
- Injections — a series of fine, superficial injections is placed evenly across the treatment area.
- Finish — a calming product and SPF are applied, and aftercare instructions are given.
Allow roughly 30 to 45 minutes in total, including numbing time.
Downtime and Aftercare
Small raised bumps at each injection point are normal, and these usually settle within a few hours to a day. Occasional pinpoint bruising can also occur, particularly around the eyes and on the neck, and it typically fades within three to five days. Mild redness afterwards is expected and short-lived.
For aftercare, leave makeup off for the rest of the day where you can. Similarly, avoid the gym, sauna, steam room and swimming for 24 to 48 hours. Skip retinoids and strong acids for a few days, and be diligent with sunscreen. Do not massage or rub the treated area on the first day, since that can disturb product placement.
How Many Sessions, and How Often
Mesotherapy is a course treatment rather than a one-off. An initial course of three to four sessions spaced two to four weeks apart is typical, followed by maintenance every three to six months. Because the effect is hydration-led, results fade gradually without maintenance, so consider the ongoing commitment before starting.
Planning around an event needs care too. Finish a course at least two to three weeks before the day, and never book a first session close to an occasion, given that bruising is possible. Ideally, start a few months ahead.
Who Should Avoid It
Mesotherapy is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, nor on skin with an active infection or inflammatory flare in the treatment area. Additionally, allergies to any component, certain bleeding disorders, and blood-thinning medications all need discussing beforehand. A history of keloid scarring is also relevant. Full disclosure at your assessment is what keeps treatment safe, so please mention everything, including supplements.
Cost of Mesotherapy in Dubai
Pricing depends on the area treated, the product used and the number of sessions in your course. Since it is a course treatment, ask about the total rather than the price of one session. We confirm all costs at consultation before anything is booked, so please call 04 268 8226. As a cosmetic treatment, mesotherapy is not covered by insurance.
One word of caution, and it applies across the market rather than to any particular clinic. Be wary of unusually low prices, because product quality, sterile technique and the training of the injector all matter considerably here. This is not a category in which to bargain-hunt.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is mesotherapy?
It is a treatment in which multiple fine, superficial injections place hydrating and antioxidant ingredients into the upper layers of the skin. Typically these include hyaluronic acid, vitamins and amino acids. The aim is improved hydration, smoothness and glow rather than volume or structural change.
Does mesotherapy actually work?
Hyaluronic acid skin boosters have reasonable evidence for improving hydration and skin quality. However, the evidence for elaborate vitamin cocktails is weaker and more variable. So we recommend it for glow and hydration, and we would rather tell you that plainly than overstate what it does.
Is mesotherapy the same as filler?
No, and the distinction matters. Fillers add volume and definition beneath the skin, whereas mesotherapy improves the quality of the skin itself. If volume loss is your concern, filler is the appropriate treatment instead.
Is it painful?
Most patients find it very manageable. Topical anaesthetic is used where appropriate, and the needles are extremely fine. You will feel small pricks, and sensitive areas such as under the eyes and the neck are more noticeable than the cheeks.
How long do results last?
Improvement in hydration and glow typically holds for several months after a completed course. Because the effect is hydration-led rather than structural, maintenance every three to six months is usually recommended.
How many sessions will I need?
An initial course of three to four sessions, spaced two to four weeks apart, is typical. Afterwards, maintenance sessions keep the result. Your specific plan is confirmed at assessment.
What is the downtime?
Small bumps at the injection points settle within hours to a day. Occasional pinpoint bruising can last three to five days, particularly around the eyes. Consequently, do not book close to an important event.
Can mesotherapy help hair loss?
It is used for hair thinning, though results vary and the evidence is less robust than for established medical treatments. More importantly, hair loss has identifiable causes such as iron deficiency, thyroid problems and hormonal changes. Therefore we recommend assessment and often blood work before starting any scalp treatment.
Is it safe for brown and darker skin tones?
Yes, generally. Since the treatment is superficial and does not remove the skin surface, the pigmentation risk is low. Nevertheless, sun protection afterwards remains important, as it does after any injectable treatment.
Who cannot have mesotherapy?
It is avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding, and on skin with an active infection or inflammatory flare. Allergies to any component, bleeding disorders, blood-thinning medication and a history of keloid scarring all need discussing first.
How much does mesotherapy cost in Dubai?
It depends on the area, the product and the number of sessions. Since it is a course treatment, ask about the total cost rather than a single session. Call 04 268 8226 for current pricing.
What are your opening hours?
We are open from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Please book ahead on 04 268 8226.
