Mesotherapy in Dubai

Villa 44C, 83rd Street, Mirdif Medically supervised +971 4 268 8226

Mesotherapy in Dubai covers a broader range of treatments than most price lists suggest, and the differences between them matter considerably to what you will actually get. The principle is consistent throughout: a series of very fine, superficial injections places hydrating and antioxidant ingredients into the upper layers of the skin, rather than relying on a product applied to the surface. What varies is the preparation used, the area treated and, frankly, how much evidence sits behind each version. At Dermabloom Medical Center in Mirdif, Dr Sarah Magdy assesses your skin and tells you which version, if any, is worth your money. To book, call 04 268 8226 or message us on WhatsApp at +971 56 598 6039.

How It Works, and What It Is Not

Skin absorbs surprisingly little of what is applied to its surface, because the barrier exists precisely to keep things out. Mesotherapy bypasses that barrier by depositing small amounts of product directly into the skin, using needles fine enough that the injections are superficial by design.

One distinction is worth settling immediately, since it accounts for most of the confusion we encounter. Mesotherapy is not a filler. Fillers sit beneath the skin and add volume and structure. Mesotherapy sits within the skin and improves its quality — hydration, smoothness, radiance. Patients quite often arrive asking for one and describing the other, so we clarify it at consultation. Where volume has genuinely been lost, filler is the correct treatment and no amount of hydration will substitute.

Two Different Things Sold Under One Name

This section is the most useful thing on the page, because clinics rarely separate the two.

Hyaluronic acid skin boosters use non-crosslinked or lightly crosslinked hyaluronic acid to hydrate the skin from within. The published evidence here is reasonable, with measurable improvements in skin hydration and quality reported.

Vitamin and antioxidant cocktails combine vitamins, amino acids, minerals and antioxidants in proprietary blends. The evidence in this category is weaker, more variable and often based on small studies, and formulations differ enormously between manufacturers.

Both are commonly called mesotherapy. Consequently, when comparing quotes between clinics, ask which category is being offered, because a low price frequently indicates a vitamin blend rather than a hyaluronic acid booster. We use and will tell you exactly which class applies to your treatment plan.

What It Treats Well — and What It Does Not

Concern Suitable? Notes
Dehydrated, dull skin Yes The core indication, and where results are most reliable
Loss of glow and radiance Yes Responds well over a course
Fine crepey texture Yes Particularly neck, hands and around the eyes
Volume loss and hollowing No Needs filler
Sagging and laxity No Needs energy-based tightening or surgery
Expression lines No Needs botulinum toxin
Acne scarring No Needs needling-based treatment
Active acne No Needs medical treatment first

Four “no” entries on a treatment page is unusual, we know. It is also the reason our mesotherapy patients tend to be satisfied ones: they arrive understanding what they are buying.

Areas We Treat

  • Face — the most requested area, planned zone by zone. Our mesotherapy for face in Dubai page covers this in detail, including makeup and event timing.
  • Neck — shows dehydration and crepiness early, yet is routinely skipped in home routines. Bruising risk is slightly higher here, so depth control matters.
  • Décolletage — sun exposure and sleeping position both take a toll, and this area is often neglected until the changes are well established.
  • Hands — constantly exposed and quick to show thinning and dehydration. Frequently overlooked by patients focused entirely on the face.
  • Scalp — used for hair thinning, but only after the cause of hair loss has been established. Our mesotherapy for hair in Dubai page explains why diagnosis and blood work come first.

The Evidence, Set Out Honestly

Mesotherapy is marketed heavily across this city, so a measured summary is worth more to you than enthusiasm. Hyaluronic acid skin boosters have reasonable supporting evidence for hydration and skin quality. The vitamin-cocktail category has considerably less, with small study sizes and wide variation between products making findings hard to generalise. Long-term comparative data is limited across the board.

Therefore we position mesotherapy as a skin-quality and hydration treatment with a genuine but modest effect, best delivered as a course and maintained thereafter. We do not present it as an anti-ageing treatment, a lifting treatment or a substitute for anything structural. If a clinic has described it in those terms to you, that description was marketing rather than medicine.

Course Structure and Maintenance

An initial course of three to four sessions spaced two to four weeks apart is standard, followed by maintenance every three to six months. Because the effect is hydration-led rather than structural, it fades gradually without maintenance.

That ongoing commitment is worth considering before you start. Patients who complete a course and then stop entirely often feel the treatment “did not last”, when in fact it behaved exactly as expected. We would rather set that out at the beginning than have the conversation at the end.

Who Should Not Have Mesotherapy

Mesotherapy is avoided in the following circumstances, and these apply to every area treated.

  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding.
  • Active infection or inflammatory skin condition in the area to be treated, including active inflammatory acne and cold sores.
  • Known allergy to any component of the preparation.

Additionally, the following require discussion before any treatment proceeds: bleeding disorders, anticoagulant and antiplatelet medication, a keloid or hypertrophic scarring tendency, active autoimmune disease, immunosuppression, poorly controlled diabetes, and recent systemic isotretinoin. Please also mention supplements, since fish oil, high-dose vitamin E, ginkgo and several others increase bruising. A full history is taken at assessment regardless.

What to Ask Any Clinic

  1. Which product, and which category? Hyaluronic acid booster or vitamin cocktail — the answer explains most price differences.
  2. Is it registered for use in the UAE? Personally imported product is a reason to walk away.
  3. May I see the packaging? A reasonable request, easily met.
  4. Who is injecting, and what is their qualification? Ask about the individual rather than the clinic.
  5. How many sessions, and what does maintenance involve? Compare the total commitment, not the headline price.
  6. What happens if I react? Any clinic should be able to explain complication management and after-hours contact.

Cost

Pricing depends on the product category, the area treated and the number of sessions in the course. Since this is course-based, ask for the cost of the full course plus expected maintenance rather than a single session. We confirm everything at consultation before booking, and where we think a different treatment represents better value for your concern, we will say so. Call 04 268 8226 for current fees. As a cosmetic treatment, mesotherapy is not covered by insurance, although investigation of an underlying medical condition may be.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is mesotherapy?

A treatment in which multiple fine, superficial injections place hydrating and antioxidant ingredients into the upper layers of the skin. The aim is improved hydration, smoothness and radiance rather than volume or structural change.

Is mesotherapy the same as a skin booster?

The terms overlap in practice, though they are not identical. Hyaluronic acid skin boosters are one category of mesotherapy and have the better evidence behind them. Vitamin and antioxidant cocktails are another, with weaker and more variable support. Ask which category you are being offered.

Is it the same as filler?

No, and this is the most common misunderstanding. Filler sits beneath the skin and adds volume; mesotherapy sits within the skin and improves its quality. If hollowing is your concern, filler is the appropriate treatment.

Does it actually work?

Hyaluronic acid boosters have reasonable evidence for improving hydration and skin quality. The evidence for elaborate vitamin blends is weaker. So we recommend it for hydration and radiance, with a genuine but modest effect, rather than overstating it.

Which areas can be treated?

Face, neck, décolletage, hands and scalp. Facial treatment is planned zone by zone, and scalp treatment for hair thinning follows a proper diagnosis rather than preceding one.

How many sessions will I need?

Typically three to four sessions two to four weeks apart, then maintenance every three to six months. Ask about the total course cost and the maintenance commitment before you begin.

What is the downtime?

Small bumps at each injection point settle within hours to a day. Pinpoint bruising is possible, particularly around the eyes and on the neck, and can take three to five days. Mild redness afterwards is normal.

Is it painful?

Most patients find it very manageable. The needles are extremely fine and topical anaesthetic is used where appropriate. Thin-skinned areas are more noticeable than the cheeks.

Is it safe for brown and darker skin tones?

Yes, generally. The treatment is superficial and does not remove the skin surface, so pigmentation risk is low. Daily sun protection afterwards remains important.

Why do prices vary so much between clinics?

Mainly because “mesotherapy” covers products of very different cost and quality, from hyaluronic acid boosters to inexpensive vitamin blends. Registration status, quantity used and whether maintenance is included also differ. Compare like with like.

Can it be combined with other treatments?

Often yes, with appropriate intervals. Toxin, filler, peels and needling can all sit within one plan, though we sequence them deliberately rather than performing several in a single visit.

What are your opening hours?

We are open from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Please book ahead on 04 268 8226.

This page provides general information only and is not medical advice or a diagnosis. Suitability is determined at an in-clinic assessment. Mesotherapy carries risks including bumps, swelling, bruising, infection and allergic reaction, results vary between individuals, and no outcome can be guaranteed. The evidence base differs by product category, being reasonable for hyaluronic acid skin boosters and weaker for vitamin and antioxidant blends. Mesotherapy does not add volume, lift the face, remove wrinkles or treat acne or acne scarring.
